Born and raised in Essex, Maryland, just outside Baltimore, and now based in South Carolina, Napoleon B’Myte is a poet, author, and spoken-word artist who writes about the feelings that don’t always come easily in conversation.

His work moves through love, heartbreak, faith, grief, identity, and the struggle to understand yourself. Conversational language, vivid imagery, and flashes of humor give his poems the intimacy of a late-night conversation. Some are tender. Others explore the thoughts people find harder to say out loud.

His first poetry book, Tales from a (Love) Poet, explores the different aspects and experiences of love: the hope of finding it, the vulnerability of letting someone in, and the hurt that can follow. Beyond the book, he continues to write about memory, personal growth, and the desire to be understood.

Faith and family remain central to his life. His love of storytelling also reaches beyond the page into spoken word, video, and live sound. Alongside his poetry, he is working toward building an audiovisual business, bringing together his interests in creativity, performance, and the way sound shapes an experience.

Away from the page, you’ll find him enjoying nature, watching anime, caring for his reptiles, or cheering on the Baltimore Ravens—with plenty of sarcasm along the way.
